Dynamite Update 8/1/09:
Last night at the movies I saw a preview for Drew Barrymore's new movie "Whip It," and much to my surprise, all the text in the preview was in the Mal De Ojo font I designed while I was living in mexico... truly bizarre. It's the first and only font I've ever made, designed it on a whim because I wanted to learn how, and then I posted it on a free font website... You just never know where your stuff will end up. It's all over the movie's promo stuff and website too.
Anyways, they didn't buy the license to use it, and I'm hoping to sue Drew Barrymore for all she's worth. Or I'd probably settle for an autographed E.T. lunchbox. Anyone know how do do this?

Paper Jam: The Art & Grime of the East Coast Rock Poster
at Civilian Art Projects at 406 7th Street NW (near Chinatown) in DC.
Opening: Friday, June 12, 2009, 7 - 9pm
It's going to be an all-star lineup of DC, B-more, and Philly postermakers: Ana Benaroya, Jordan Bernier, Anthony Dihle (Dirty Pictures), Jefferey Everett (El Jefe Design), Jeff Fry, Edward Kelley, Large Mammal, Nick Pimentel (Planaria Design), Post Typography, and a bunch of others....
This will be kindof a Dynamite DC sendoff, since I'm moving to Philadelphia a few days later! Yup!

Inaugur-art! DC's getting ready to be turned upside down for a long weekend of Obamabration, high security, free beyonce/bruce/stevie wonder concerts, and never-ending traffic jams... A crew of us got together and came up with the idea of using this opportunity to educate our expected 3 million-some inaugural visitors about DC's lack of voting representation via silkscreened posters. We want the vote!

Far far far from Dynamite Central, I'm in Oaxaca. Mexico, missing home but loving my new temporary home. Wanted to share photos of a rad valentine's day poster/balloon silkscreen project i did with friends. "Todo El Amor al Pueblo" plays with "Todo el Poder al Pueblo," a battle cry of the social movement in Oaxaca. Printing w/ vinyl ink and on balloons was new for me! Besos y abrazos, Tim
